This past year at Keller Williams Realty has been really exciting. We agents have been learning about what our company has been working on for the last two years that will launch us so far into the new world of technology that Gary Keller has now deemed us a “tech” company, not a “real estate” company. What he means by that is that obviously we are a real estate company. But now, more importantly, we are competing in the world of technology not only in real estate, but along with every other industry as well. In order for any company to survive, it’s critical to embrace the tech boom, stay current on new trends and most importantly be innovative in our implementation of new tech in our own industry. A statement made on our inside KW agent website says, “The tech-enabled agent demands that their technology not replace them, but help them be ‘more’ … more trusted, more present, more everything.” As a professional that works one on one, side by side with her clients in order to tailor make the experience for them, this speaks volumes to me.
We took a class at our market center recently with one of our more well-known KW instructors, Zach Younger and he shared with us what’s happening with new Keller Williams tech innovation. KW has hugely increased its team of tech and data scientists and have developed its new systems using Artificial Intelligence to put the vast amount of data that Keller Williams has to the best possible use for agents and consumers alike.
A huge amount of research went into finding out how people search for real estate. The findings revealed:
- When it comes to computer vs. mobile device, people are searching more with their smart phones and tablets than they are sitting down at their desktop.
- People are searching for homes by specific neighborhood and less by zip code or any “other” information provided by the MLS.
So the natural thing to do was for the tech team to focus on building a robust yet concise mobile application for consumers to search for property that will also allow your agent to help you streamline your searching and buying process. For those who are looking to sell their home, the huge amount of data on all property history, current market trends and insights all boiled down to your location…your micro-location, let’s say, gives you the best possible picture of what your home is worth.
That is honestly a tiny piece of what has been developed for Keller Williams agents. 17,000 of us gathered together this past weekend in New Orleans to attend our annual KW Family Reunion where all this new tech was unveiled for use. It’s an understatement to say that we are extremely impressed and excited to use the new tools that they have just rolled out. Artificial Intelligence is becoming more of a household term, however only a handful of large companies actually have the opportunity to put it to use for their own business development.
I would LOVE to share this with you! If you download my app you can check out the search features, all while helping to bolster up the data collected by Keller Williams own cloud storage, Keller Cloud, thus making our AI even better! That’s right, your search activity will help aid the KW Artificial Intelligence engine. So you can see why we want as many people as possible to get in on this! I’m so excited about where we are headed…it almost feels a little sci-fi and I almost feel a little nerdy talking about it, it’s just so cool!
